SERGIO LARRAIN
This is a end of year project we are doing and i have chosen to do openings photography. The artist i have chosen for this is Sergio Larrain . He mostly takes black and white pictures, Some of his pictures are very clear about openings and what that means for example opening doors, windows and more.
|
Here are a few images of what he has done these ones stood out the most for me because they are all opening ones and they look very different each picture. My favourite one is with the one with the girls hanging upside down because there is a circle shape they are making with there arms and thats like a small opening also i like the one with the door open on a balcony and you can see little kids playing and people passing by and it makes it stand out because the door is not open all the way and you can see a lot already from the picture.

Charles Lorrain
|
This is charles larrain's pictures he has not got that many opening photographs because he has most in he photography books, but my favourite one is the ally because its very different the shapes and different patterns and the only thing you can through is the arch which is the opening.

Stephen Shore
|
Stephen shore has quiet a few images of openings and they are very good and interesting. In his pictures of openings he only focuses on the opening because the pictures are quiet plain so it stands out a lot .

My opening project
|
This is my opening project we had to go round and take pictures of our chosen final piece mine was opening so i took lots of pictures of doors open or in-between trees and more interesting photos. I would like to take more pictures of these because it was hard to find these openings but it was fun trying to keep a look out for things you don't really look for so i found loads of things i would of never thought about looking out not even take a picture so i thought this was very good and imaginative to find not your every day things. I could improve this by making it more interesting and more pictures.

Opening Project Lines
|
This is some more of my opening pictures. This time i have been looking for line openings so i focused on one thing, it made it harder to just find lines but made it interesting to find a precise shape or image. The best one i think i took is the 2nd one because its very different and its a clear opening of lines. The one i think is the least successful is the one with the door because they are lines but they are not a opening, but i still like the picture. I don't really have a favourite one because i don't think the pictures are that good and i could of taken better pictures but i have learned from this because i know i need to look harder for pictures.

Here is a few more pictures of openings, i didn't really need to take these ones but when i looked at them afterwards i found them very interesting. i really like the one with the chair because its blurred but the railing where the opening is clear and stands out and theres 3 openings which is very interesting.

Lorenzo Vitturi
|
Lorenzo vitturi is a famous photographer he takes pictures of street markets and he likes colourful objects so he can make a bold piece of work that he can take pictures of and make it different and quirky. At the photographers gallery lorenzo's room was very colourful and weird because his photography is not normal in a good way because his stands out from the rest that makes him different.

Opening Designs
My Final Piece
|
My final piece is two images stuck together to make one big one, one image is of a door open and the next image is of gaps between bars. i made the images smaller and copied and pasted four of each image. After i stuck the images together i put a plastic material over the top of them to make them shiny and where the gaps are in the image i cut them out and on the plastic part i painted it in different colours. The reason why i chose to do openings was because i found it interesting to do and it gave my idea of what my final piece is. The two images at the side are the pictures i used for my final piece before i made my last image.
